Now Apple is aiming to make the competition tougher by sporting an A6 Quad-core Processor in the iPad 3. This would make the iPad 3 as powerful as any high-end desktop.

iOS 5

The iPad 3 will come with the latest iOS 5, which will host the multi-touch gesture technology. However, analyst and tech enthusiasts predict that Apple would introduce OS X Lion for the tablet, since it will be powered by a quad-core processor.

Retina Display

Retina Display (after we’ve seen this function on the iPhone 4 we thought that iPad 2 will also going to have it but there wasn’t any, iPad 3 will probably come up with this improvement. With the Retina Display feature, the screen resolution of the iPad3 will be 2048 x 1536 pixels. However, it is said that the third version of the tablet is delayed due to Retina Display issues, and Apple is expected to ship the tablet in early 2012.

Cloud Computing

Apple will definitely include the iCloud technology in iPad 3. With iCloud users can store photos, apps, calendars and access songs on iTunes without having them to store in the phone’s memory.

According to recent research from Mark Moskowitz of JP Morgan, Apple are working on prototypes of the iPad 3, but not in a hurry to produce the device, since other companies are still not able to provide really competitive tablets.

iPad 3 pics
Analyst Mark Moskowitz on Friday said in a report that talked with representatives of the insider-Apple and was informed that before 2012 the company will not provide third generation iPad. "In my opinion, Apple should be not in a hurry " - says Mark. - "Tablets of other companies are still not so perfect, and this trend will continue until 2012."

The report Moskowitz found a place yet one tablet, namely Playbook from RIM. In the 2nd quarter of 2012, which ended on August 27, a Canadian company could not get the most impressive gains, despite the fact that she managed to sell only 200.000 Play Books.

It is interesting about this is that insiders in a conversation with Mark noted that Apple had planned to present iPad 3 at the end of this year, but now decided to postpone the release of the 2012-th.

In addition, it was said that Apple has some difficulties with the Retina-panel displays for iPad 3. What are the technical difficulties encountered with the production of Retina-panel displays for the future of the tablet - is unknown, and indeed, whether it is a major challenge revised plans of how to run iPad - it is not clear.

Recall that the iPad was presented at a presentation in San Francisco by Steve Jobs on January 27th of 2010. Home sales began on April 3 of 2010. On March 2 of 2011 the public was presented the second generation model, iPad 2, with improved characteristics.

When Apple introduced two IPad his camera, smart cover, a fast processor and other features that made a big fuss. What caught my eye about two weeks I got IPad 2.This led to the question: "What Apple has added elements that made with IPad 2 lighter and thinner?
Dimensions IPad 2 significantly decreased compared with the first IPad due to a reduction in the amount of four key components, touch screen, the thickness of the display part, design, and battery. The end result is that IPad 2 thirty-four percent thinner than the first IPad.
According to Kevin Keller of iSuppli IHS, the appearance of fine IPad 2 not only makes the first IPad-s cumbersome, but other pills seem like a giant compared to IPad 2 .

Thin Battery, about 15 percent more efficient in terms of energy consumption compared to previous one. Apple has managed to make the battery more thin and at the same time has no effect on energy saving and ipad 2 runs clockwise 9.10 per charge.
Apple is set to IPad 2 touchscreen with an improved thin layer of glass. Glass on IPad 2 is more flexible and durable than the first screen IPadApple IPad two smaller, faster and more versatile than the first generation of IPAD.

Once again, the designers and developers have tried to create iLuv cover for iPad tablet and did not disappoint the growing audience of admirers. Buyers production unit from Apple is well known for the brand under the name of which produced the most stunning accessories for iPad, iPod, iPhone. The latest sensational inventions included: Docking station iMM190 App Station, which turned the smartphone from Apple's All-acoustic device, and musical cover MusicPac iPad Speaker Case, equipped with powerful speakers and volume control.
Another novelty was the leather case iLuv iCK826, combining stylish design, practicality and functionality. Like its metal "colleague" Aluminium Keyboard Buddy Case, Case has a hardware keyboard, which makes it much easier typing and working with it. Successfully competes with manufacturers of plug-bluetooth-keyboard, built-in covers for the iPad 2, the cooperation of firms and ZAGGfolio Logitech (eg model Logitech Keyboard Case by ZAGG for iPad 2).
Despite the huge variety of models of bluetooth-keyboards, is quite problematic pick up that option, that will suit you. But this time the iLuv iCK826 is a happy exception, successfully combining all the advantages. Keypad buttons are pleasant to the touch, are made from high quality plastic and have the same mechanism of action, which is used in laptops. This provides the required response time, reliability and durability. A total of 81 key keyboard housed.
Stand has an additional area for the wrists, made with all the requirements of ergonomics. The surface of the accessory is made of leather, which makes him not only a beautiful view, but also provides resistance to external damage. The keypad can be removed from the case and, if necessary, replace the other. Keeps it with Velcro and can be removed without problems. Battery lets you work with the tablet about thirty days at no additional charge, which is a significant parameter in the selection of accessories.
In the active use of the device can run for 5 days. used to charge USB-port that allows you to eat from a computer or power adapter. While Apple is in no hurry to introduce a new iPhone 5, fans of the company can do nothing better than to look for and, not surprisingly, finding new options for the iPhone 5.Another photo, which allegedly depicted the iPhone 5, shows a thin phone with a large display and a silver trim that resembles the iPhone 4.

In general, the design fits into the concept of Apple, according to which the iPhone 5 is a rather upgrade its predecessor, but not entirely new and revolutionary product, the love of Steve Jobs. Nevertheless, it is surprising that despite the overall similarity with the iPhone 4 in the photo on the phone no sound switch and volume buttons.

Apple’s iPhone 4 has become one of the world’s favorite cameras over the last year. A cursory look at the photo stats from Flickr shows just how popular the iPhone 4 is when it comes to taking snaps, with huge numbers of photographs uploaded daily.

If you’re a budding iPhone photographer and have a hankering for the good old days when photos had timestamps then you’re in luck.
A new Cydia tweak, Stampr, brings timestamps to the iPhone’s camera app. Not only can you now have a handy reminder of the date and time you took the photo, but you can also add custom text via the app’s settings. Also in there you’ll find options for changing the text size and color – plenty for you to make your timestamps look just the way you want them for the maximum shot of nostalgia.

One nice feature that may get overlooked is the way Stampr actually saves two photos to your camera roll – one with the timestamp and one without. Useful for those that might want a pristine, unaltered version of their photos for editing, printing or distributing later.
You will, of course, need to have a jailbroken iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to install it. Follow our step by step guide to jailbreak your iPhoneiPad or iPod touch on iOS 4.3.1 with Redsn0w, PwnageTool 4.3 (untethered | tethered) on Mac, or with Sn0wbreeze on Windows, or on iOS 4.3.2 with Redsn0w, PwnageTool 4.3 (tethered), or with Sn0wbreeze on Windows, or on iOS 4.3.3 using Redsn0wPwnageToolSn0wbreeze if you haven’t already.
Stampr is available from the iOS jailbreak store, Cydia and costs absolutely nothing.

One of the many complaints leveled at the iPhone design is the closed case, with no user-serviceable batteries. This has spawned multiple cases with inbuilt power supplies for extending the iPhone’s sometimes anaemic battery life. Granted the iPhone 4 is a great improvement over past models in the power department, but every little helps. But what if you don’t want a case with the added bulk of a battery?

Enter the new case and smart battery from Third Rail. The two-part system offers the best of both worlds – a slim iPhone 4 case with an attachable battery pack for when you need that little bit more juice – 1250mAh worth of juice to be exact. The $90 kit consists of one case and one smart battery, with further batteries available for $40 each. If you do happen to buy two or more batteries, there’s the added benefit of being able to stack them to create either a power hub or to charge them both at the same time.

The Third Rail™ System includes the Slim Case for iPhone 4 with a slide-on Smart Battery. Understanding that your daily power needs may vary, The System allows you to add power when you need it and remove it when you don’t!
The Slim Case is a sleek, everyday protective case with a high quality, soft-touch feel. The Smart Battery can also function as a standalone backup battery to power other devices via USB Adapter (included).
In this world where we’re all carrying around multiple devices the smart battery can also be used as a charger for almost anything thanks to its micro-USB port.
With many put off of traditional battery-increasing cases by their bulk, the Third Rail case and smart battery offer a great alternative to carrying around a power cord and sticking near a power outlet.

In the last year, just about every iPad case or stand has made it to my office for a review. While I don't always write them up, I often show the products on TUAW TV Live. It doesn't matter what I'm showing; there's always someone for whom the product is perfect, and a lot of people liked the case that I'm writing about here. For people who want the protection of a case and the convenience of the stand, the iChair (no, not thehelmsman's chair from Norway) is one of the better designs I've seen.
We received one of the iPad cases and an iPhone 4 case earlier this month for review, and while the iPhone case was inadvertently used as a giveaway for our TUAW meetups, I still have the iPad case and decided to give it a try. Vindi Sedey, the CEO of iChair, is trying to get funding on Kickstarter to start manufacturing the iPad 2 and fourth-generation iPod touch versions of the combo case and stand. At this point, he's quite a bit away from his goal of $15,000 worth of funding, but given the quality of the iChair for the original iPad, I thought I'd give the product a little push here on TUAW.

Check out the review of the original iChair on the next page, and if you like what you see, help out a young entrepreneur as a backer for his project.

Features

The iChair for iPad (US$49.00) is a slider-type case made of a grippable hard plastic material on the outside, and lined with a soft velour material on the inside. That inside liner is unique to the iChair; I've found that many other cases of this type retain the hard material on the inside as well, and for some reason it often collects dust that ends up on the back of the iPad. The iChair material tends to remove the dust from the iPad, and I've found in testing that it also seems to keep dust from accumulating behind the iPad in the first place.
While the iChair is made of black plastic, the top is replaceable with an included extra cap. In the package I received, the second cap was a nice dark blue to create a two-tone case. When purchasing the iChair, there's a choice of the blue cap or a white one. The package also contains a screen protector to keep the iPad display from scratches. I personally like the thin design of the iChair. It doesn't add a lot of bulk to the iPad, unlike many of the other iPad stands and cases we've reviewed.
So where does the iChair get its name? From the fact that thanks to two small locking plastic tabs that snap out from the body of the case, the iChair can "sit up" in landscape or portrait orientation. When you're planning on doing some hardcore typing on the iPad, the iChair props up into a slight slant that's perfect for tapping on the virtual keyboard.

Hands-on Video

To show you the iChair in action, I put together a quick two-minute video showing what it looks like and how it works.

Conclusion

The iChair for iPad is thin, sturdy, and useful. At $49, it beats many competitive products on price, and the extra top cap gives the iChair a nice custom feel. If you'd like to see this product for iPad 2, be sure to visit the iChair Kickstarter page and consider backing the project

Apple has just made its second-generation iPad official! It features a 1GHz dual-core A5 chip and, finally, cameras, both on the front and rear. The new CPU is said to be up to twice as fast, with graphics performance up to nine times better than on the original iPad, while power requirements have been kept the same.

Battery life is, consequently, unaltered, with Apple promising 10 hours. Pricing, too, has been left unchanged, starting at $499 for a 16GB WiFi-only iPad 2 and stretching up to $829 for a WiFi + 3G SKU with 64GB of storage. The new tablet will come with an HDMI output capable of 1080p -- which will set you back $39 for the requisite dongle, called an Apple Digital AV Adapter -- but there will sadly be no rumblings of Thunderbolt connectivity here. What you will get is an enlarged speaker grille on the back, as expected, and the same 1024 x 768 resolution and IPS LCD screen technology as on the original iPad.

Update: We've gotten our first hands-on with the iPad 2 and, boy oh boy, it's fast!

720p video recording at 30fps will be on tap from the rear-facing camera, which can also do a 5x digital zoom if you're into that kind of thing, whereas the front-facing imager will record at a more modest VGA resolution, also at 30fps.

There's a new cover for the device, which is best defined by Steve Jobs himself: "We designed the case right alongside the product. It's not a case -- it's a cover." Basically, it's a magnetic flap that protects the front and automatically wakes and puts the device to sleep according to whether it's open or closed. Guess we know what that proximity sensor was about now. These Smart Covers will cost $39 in plastic or $69 if you opt for leather.

The iPad 2 is 33 percent thinner than its predecessor, at a mind-melting 8.8mm, and a little lighter at just over 600g, while paintjob options have been expanded: you'll get a choice between white and black. It'll be available on both AT&T and Verizon, and all variants start shipping on March 11th. Apple Retail Stores will start sales at the unusual hour of 5PM, which will probably make online pre-orders the fastest way to get yours.

In terms of new software, Apple's launching iOS 4.3 alongside the new iPad and bringing with it much improved Safari performance as well as FaceTime, Photo Booth, iMovie and GarageBand (the latter two costing $4.99 a piece) apps specifically for the newly camera-enriched iPad. Personal Hotspot capabilities are also arriving in the latest version of the OS, but they'll be exclusive to the iPhone 4, so you won't be able to share your 3G iPad's connection. The minimum compatible version of iTunes for the new iPad 2 will be the freshly released 10.2.

You'll find Apple's official PR and some slick promo videos below, or you can keep your mouse clicking and check out our first hands-on with the iPad 2.
